January-February 2026 Newsletter
January and February were full of energy, creativity, and achievements at North Lewis Elementary and within our French Immersion community. From athletic victories to cultural traditions and academic excellence, our students and teachers continue to shine. Here’s a look back at the highlights from the past two months!
Mustangs Soccer: An Undefeated Season! ⚽
What an incredible season for the Mustangs soccer team, who won all of their games!
A huge congratulations to the players for their teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the coaches, Mrs. Jennifer Pellerin (ELA teacher, 4th-6th) and her husband, for generously giving their time and energy to support our students. Your dedication truly made a difference — Bravo to all! 🏆
Mardi Gras Parade: A Joyful Tradition
Just before Mardi Gras break, our first graders proudly carried on the traditional Mardi Gras parade. The students worked hard to build their own floats, which they joyfully showcased during this special moment of sharing with fellow students, teachers, and families.
The parade was a wonderful celebration of creativity, culture, and community — and a beautiful way to kick off the Mardi Gras season! 💜💛💚
Beta Convention in Lafayette
Our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders proudly represented NLE at the annual Beta Convention in Lafayette. Students participated in a wide variety of events, including dance, singing, engineering challenges, living literature, and more.
Their enthusiasm, talent, and confidence were inspiring to see. Congratulations to all our Beta participants for their hard work and commitment! 🌟
Our Students Shine at the 4-H Show!
Congratulations to our French immersion students who participated in the 4-H Poultry & Rabbit show in February.
