Exploration, Culture, and Gratitude

November was full of exciting activities for our French Immersion students! From hands-on learning during the Atelier Nature field trip in Arnaudville for 2nd to 6th-graders, to our delicious crêpe cooking class in French, students had plenty of opportunities to learn and have fun. We also took time to honor our heroes on Veterans Day, and our Kindergarten students enjoyed their own special field trip. What a wonderful month of learning, culture, and community!

Discovering Nature

Students in grades 2 through 6 had the wonderful opportunity to visit Atelier de la Nature in Arnaudville as part of My French Book Fest. They participated in an inspiring workshop led by French author and illustrator Ilya Green and enjoyed exploring the site’s beautiful “enchanted forest”.

Les Amis and La Fondation Louisiane helped make this memorable experience possible by contributing to the transportation costs. Thank you for being so supportive!

A Day of Respect and Remembrance

NLE students proudly honored our veteran heroes during a special ceremony. Madison Lewis was chosen to recite “The Pledge of Allegiance” in French, a meaningful way to showcase our French Immersion program while paying tribute to those who served.

It was a touching moment of gratitude and respect from our students to the men and women who protect our country.

A Taste of France

Our 3rd-grade teacher, Madame Emilie Mouligne, led a fun and delicious crêpe cooking class entirely in French! Students and their parents brought their own ingredients and utensils, while Les Amis provided the crêpe machines.

Together, everyone enjoyed learning new French vocabulary and cooking skills while sharing the joy of French culture.

Our Little Explorers on the Go!

The French Immersion kindergarten enjoyed a fun and educational field trip to Downtown Lafayette, where they visited the Children’s Museum. Students explored hands-on activities, including playing little scientists and discovering how bubbles work through interactive science exhibits. The day continued with a stop at Parc Sans Souci, where the children played, laughed, and enjoyed the beautiful weather together.
